THE PATH TO GET BACK ON TRACK
“I HIT ROCK BOTTOM, I HAD A CHOICE TO MAKE… TO LEARN FROM IT AND KEEP GOING AFTER MY DREAMS OR TO LEARN FROM IT AND GIVE UP ON MY DREAMS. I WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON MY DREAMS AND GOALS!”
WHEN UPCOMING RACING STAR DAVEY HAMILTON JR. hit rock bottom in the beginning of 2019, he didn’t want that to be the end of his career and story. Ever since he was 4 years old he had been racing cars and working towards reaching the top levels in the sport. So he was willing to do anything for him to get a second chance to be able to continue on with his career.

Davey spent the past few years reflecting and learning from his mistakes, winning championships and awards and becoming a successful race promoter in the process. Over the years Davey journaled everything he experienced and went through. With times of almost giving up, he has been fortunate to build and have new connections that would push him to keep going and get back on his feet.

In this candid reflection, Davey opens up about his life going into detail about his careers, mistakes, and injuries he has endured. His goals for the reader is to see everything he went through with the hopes of it helping others that may have gone through the same thing and or to help prevent others from making similar mistakes he did.
DHJR Ventures & Open Wheel Showdown
In 2023, after seeing success forming businesses as an entrepreneur, Davey began his career as promoter of the Open Wheel Showdown, a yearly event he dreamed up since growing up watching his father and grandfather race in the Copper World Classic in Phoenix, and seeing Turkey Night at Irwindale Speedway.
His vision was to bring back a prestigious event like these for the modern day where there is a lacking precense of big ticket events for the pavement open wheel short track racers of the world, and that included a record-breaking purse and $50,000 to win sprint car feature, three different classes of racecar which has included winged sprint cars, supermodifieds, midgets and most recently, open wheel modifieds.
Racing stars who've raced or attended include 8-time USAC champion Kody Swanson, sprint car and NASCAR Modified champion Bobby Santos III, Idaho Hall of Fame driver Ken Hamilton and his son, West Coast Motorsports Hall of Fame driver Davey Hamilton, Indy Lights winner and television star Arie Luyendyk Jr., former Indy 500 winners Arie Luyendyk Sr. and Buddy Rice, and more! It continues to grow, with 30 partners in 2024 including title sponsor Bitnile.com, broadcast partner Speed Sport, Hoosier Tire, Klotz Synthetics, Impact, and many more.

Davey continues to partner with brands outside of the Open Wheel Showdown in his personal endeavors, fostering relationships and creating B2B opportunities for sponsors who wish to get on board with his racing in years to come. When he is not racing or promoting, Davey advocates for non-profits like the Second Chance Job Foundation, giving felons the tools to build a positive future, and his own Davey Hamilton Jr. Foundation that brings awareness to the impact of head injuries.
